Appel aux candidats pour des postes d'experts associés Chaque année la Direction Générale de la Coopération au Développement (DGCD) met des jeunes spécialistes, universitaires ou titulaires d'un diplôme d'enseignement supérieur, à la disposition de différents organismes des Nations Unies.

Une expérience professionnelle de qualité de deux ans minimum est demandée.

La limite d'âge est fixée à 32 ans accomplis au 31 décembre 2003.

Ils peuvent se présenter pour maximum trois postes.

Les conventions de travail sont conclues entre l'expert-associé et l'organisation internationale pour une période d'un an. Elles peuvent être prolongées, moyennant une appréciation favorable pour une période totale maximale de trois ans.

Les experts-associés sont entièrement à charge du Trésor belge.

Les candidats désignés doivent avoir rejoint leur poste dans les trois mois qui suivent leur agrément par l'organisme concerné des Nations Unies.

Tout candidat est tenu de répondre au présent appel nonobstant toute candidature antérieure.

Le délai d'introduction des candidatures est fixé à trente jours calendrier à partir de la date de la publication de cet appel au Moniteur belge (du 31 janvier jusqu'au 3 mars 2003 inclus) à l'adresse suivante : Cfr adresses dans la description de poste.

Ces 4 postes sont réservés à des candidats ressortissants des pays en développement.

UNHCR Protection (réf. 654.803) Dar es Salaam Tanzanie ? Qualifications and Skills : 1. A university degree in law.2. Proficiency in English (knowledge in French would help) 3.Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. 4. An understanding of refugee law and international human rights.5. An ability and willingness to understand new legal systems quickly 6.Good drafting skills on legal issues 7. Ability and willingness to work in relatively harsh and isolated conditions (refugee camps, etc). 8. Knowledge of the region desirable ? Experience : At least 2 years of having worked on refugee law and policy, or human rights (field experience would also assist) ? Competencies required (indicate the 4 most relevant competencies required to properly carry out the duties and responsibilities within the context of the posting) PT02 : Protecting refugees and other persons of concern to UNHCR PT04 : Providing legal support and advice PT05 : Promoting refugee law/protection principles DS03 : Facilitating the Resettlement Process Address : CRISCI@unhcr.ch S 2. UNCTAD 2003-B/2 Genève M.A. in economics or equivalent. The Associate Expert should have a solid academic training in the economics of development, with emphasis on macroeconomics and/or development finance issues. He/she should be familiar with socio-economic conditions in LDCs and have a sound understanding of the ways in which the international economy interacts with the domestic economy in the context of developing countries. The Associate Expert should be familiar with macroeconomic policy and development finance policy debates. An understanding of their relationship to the poverty dynamics and the achievement of poverty reduction goals would be an advantage.

Work experience 2 years in the areas of international economics and development, in particular with respect to least developed countries.

Furthermore, the Associate Expert should have international experiences through studying and/ or working outside of his/ her home country.

A solid academic background at the post-graduate level in demography, economics or other related social sciences; ? Fluency in English. Knowledge of an additional UN Language, preferably French and/or Spanish is desirable. ? Ability to write clearly and concisely; ? Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members of different national and cultural backgrounds.

(Gender knowledge is a must). 2 years relevant work experience in Gender and Development and Women's Human Rights Key competencies of the assignments : ? Fluency in Spanish and English ?
